The physical learning environment at Ikram childcare centers on interest areas. Children are given ample time each day to explore independently and with peers and teachers the following areas:
8:30am-9:30am Arrival, breakfast, table/circle time
9:30am -10:00am Letter introduction
(Scissor skills, coloring, cut and paste, prewriting practice)
10:00am-10:30am Coloring & morning snack
(Magnet activities, coloring puzzles, thumb tack poking pages)
10:30am-11:45am Outside/indoor play
11:45am-12:10pm Counting & sorting
(Number tracing, sorting by colors & shapes, counting by 1's, 2's, & so forth)
12:10pm-12:45pm lunch
12:45pm-2:15pm Wash hands/nap & quiet time
2:15pm-2:45pm Afternoon snack & free play
2:45pm-3:30pm Learning centers & guided play
(Students choice arts & crafts, blocks, dramatic play, etc.,)
3:45pm-4:25pm Group activities
4:25pm-5:00pm Free play, clean-up & dismissal
